Yesterday I did something that I've never done before.
I left some of my art in a public place for a stranger to find.
It wasn't my idea, it's the idea of Susan, one of my lovely fb friends. She came up with the idea of leaving small works of art around in public places just for someone to find, she's been running this challenge on her blog since Valentines day, and I couldn't resist joining in with it.
So I decided to leave one of my 'chicks' somewhere in the city. I had to got to pick up a print from the printers anyway so it was the perfect opportunity. Should I leave it outside? Should it be in an 'obvious' place? It took me ages to decide, I even considered leaving it on a sculpture in the art gallery but I figured I might get told off for touching the art.
Eventually, with my tummy rumbling, I went for a bite to eat.
This was where I decided to leave it, on my table in fact.
I'd stuck my card to the back with my contact details, not for a thankyou, but more for if someone let me know they found it. A rather cynical friend said 'it might end up in the bin' but that was a chance I was willing to take, because the feeling that you get from doing something so simple as this was so worth that chance.
So with my tummy content, I stood up, pushed in my chair and left my art...
hopefully it made someone smile because it did for me.
