Sweet as Sugar...

So as you can see, I'm still playing around in the softer shades, and I can say that this style is proving really popular with my friends.
At first I wasn't so sure.
I've never really been a 'girly girl' type, I've always preferred bright colors and bold patterns, but I must admit that I'm liking this style and it's quite fresh for summer too.
I made a couple of images, (that I'll be making into greetings cards and prints very soon), take a look, and I'd LOVE your feedback as always.

LOOK

collage backgrounds... yummy

I worked in a journal that has pages made from brown paper.

then added a little gesso so that I could draw, and used one of my fine ink pens to draw my chick,
and she now looks like
THIS

how cute (even if I do say so myself)
I added the quote digitally afterwards.

Then I made this chick,
LOOK

they are quite sweet aren't they?
The only difference with this one is that I worked straight onto the paper and just collaged her dress.
I think they'll work really well as cute stationary.

I'll let you know as soon as they are ready and in the shop.

Now I'm off to get on with my 'TOP SECRET' arty stuff, but before I do, I just wanted to show you this from my Little Miss.  I found it whilst flicking through her little sketch book to pinch a piece of her paper.
(she's actually drawn ten little guys).

sweet as sugar.

Very sweet work and I imagine they will do real well in your shop.

I especially like the drawing done by your Little Miss. She's following in Mom's footsteps...

Love your daughter's little person! That would also look good on a journal page - can you re-produce them - with paper pieceing would be good. Almost as good as Stampotique!! Also find you 'girls' v interesting. Have lots more fun! EmmG

Hi Cheryl,

thank you so much for your lovely comment, yes I'm hoping they will be popular prints too. My little Miss loves to sit and draw alongside with me, I think that you're right and she is following in my footsteps, she's very creative.

Hi Rachel,
thanks, it's a break away from my brights but I'm really pleased how they look. They are really popular too so perhaps I should keep making some more.
